The June appointment of the botanical walks of the Forte<\/b> is dedicated to the herbs of San Giovanni<\/b> and the tradition that involves plants, the sun, and water, during the shortest night of the year.<\/p>\n
The herbs gather the energy of the sun, at its peak during the days of the summer solstice, and transfer to the water magical properties<\/b> which, according to a popular belief that we like to indulge in, can ward off the evil eye, diseases, and ailments we must constantly protect ourselves from!<\/p>\n
The pre-Christian tradition has since been linked to San Giovanni Battista, who is also the patron saint of Finale Ligure.<\/p>\n
