Day 1 – Discovering bats
Arrival in Finale Ligure by your own means of transport and free time for a stroll through the streets of the town centre. In the late afternoon, meet with the guide for an exciting activity: exploring the world of bats. You will learn about the habits of these fascinating animals, their ecological role and the environments that host them. At dusk, thanks to the bat detector, we will listen to the bats flying silently in search of food. An experience suitable for children, teenagers and curious adults, combining nature, science and magic. Packed dinner at the participants’ expense. Return to the accommodation, check-in and overnight stay.
Day 2 – The Five Senses Trail in Varigotti
After breakfast, meet your guide in Varigotti for a trek along the famous Sentiero dei Cinque Sensi (Path of the Five Senses), from the sea to the ancient Saracen Tower. An educational and engaging trail for the whole family: children will learn about the Mediterranean scrub through the use of their senses. The scents, colours and sounds of nature will reveal the secrets of plants and their survival strategies: adaptation to drought, defence against salinity and resistance to sun and wind. Among olive trees and Ligurian “fasce” (terraces), up to the Punta Crena Nature Reserve, a unique view of the Bay of Saraceni and the Ligurian Sea opens up. Activity duration: 2 hours. Hiking boots or trainers are recommended. Return to the hotel, dinner at your leisure and overnight stay.
Day 3 – Brunch and departure
The day begins with a farewell brunch. For those who wish to extend the adventure, there is the option of adding extras: admission to the Borgio Verezzi Caves, one of the most fascinating karst complexes in Liguria.
The price includes: 2 nights in a campsite/bungalow (2 adults + 2 children) from April to June and September to November, excluding public holidays. Or 2 nights in a 3-star hotel with breakfast: from April to June and September to November, excluding public holidays. Guided excursion to discover bats. Guided trek along the ‘Sentiero dei Cinque Sensi’ (Path of the Five Senses) in Varigotti (2 hours). Departure brunch.
