On the bicentennial of Beethoven's death

Giacomo Fuga was born in Turin in 1962, son of the pianist and composer Sandro Fuga. He graduated in piano at just 17 years old from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin with top marks and honors. He also completed studies in Composition and Conducting.

• The debut: Awarded in several international piano competitions including the Rina Salagallo in Monza (1980), the Viotti-Valsesia and the Viotti in Vercelli (1981), he quickly embarked on a remarkable concert activity performing in prestigious venues such as the Salle Cortot in Paris, the StefanienSaal in Graz, the Conservatory of Geneva, and the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo.
• In 1987, he founded the Trio di Torino, a chamber music ensemble that performs on stages across Europe and Asia. He plays in a four-hand piano duo with his sister Carlotta.
• The discography: His discography includes works by Faurè, Dukas, Bizet, and Sandro Fuga, and with the Trio di Torino, he has recorded music by Chopin, Brahms, Dvorak, Shostakovich, and Rachmaninov. The recordings are published by Real Sound.
• Teaching: He is a main piano teacher at the Conservatory of Turin.
• Social commitment: He manages the artistic direction of the "Sandro Fuga" Association, established to promote chamber music and the historical memory of his father.
