The Pieve del Finale, dedicated to San Giovanni Battista, represents one of the most important examples of paleochristian and medieval church in Liguria with baptismal functions.

Following the archaeological excavations conducted between 1940 and 1945 by the local historian Giovanni Andrea Silla and the superintendent of monumental assets of Liguria Carlo Ceschi, the remains of the ancient pieve have been uncovered and are now preserved beneath the current Chiesa dei Padri Cappuccini, located at via Brunenghi in Finalmarina.
