The Varigotti Promontory, jutting out over the sea with the underlying cliffs of punta Crena, is one of the most picturesque areas of the western Liguria due to its exceptional landscape, naturalistic, archaeological, and monumental value.
Exceptionally accompanied by an archaeologist and a naturalistic guide, we will take you to discover the secrets of this extraordinary place perched over the sea. Through the centuries-old olive grove, we will discover the botanical garden and the typical essences of the Mediterranean scrub, while the artificial ponds and the reptile house introduce us to endangered fauna.
The archaeologist’s narrative will unveil the evidence related to the natural harbor along the ancient Mediterranean routes, the presence of the ancient church of San Lorenzo on the slope overlooking the harbor, the sequence of fortifications that protected the summit of the promontory over the centuries, and the modern lookout towers.

Meeting at the beginning of the trail, "Strada Vecchia" intersection "Salita al castello", Varigotti, 5:00 p.m.
Appropriate clothing and footwear are recommended, and water to drink. In case of rain, the visits are suspended.
