A day of music, meetings, swap parties, and activities to celebrate the new eighteen-year-olds together
On Sunday September 27, from 5.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m., the Chiostri di Santa Caterina in Finalborgo will host the First Vote Festival, the first event of "Unpacking Democracy – Instructions for Use".
A day open to everyone, but with a special invitation to the girls and boys born in 2008, who turn eighteen this year and, along with reaching adulthood, also acquire the right to vote.
The idea is simple: to celebrate this transition and, at the same time, create an opportunity to meet, be together, ask questions, and approach democratic participation in a different way.
No lessons and no explanations on what to think or how to vote. Instead, the focus will be on people and their ideas.
The project sees the Municipality of Finale Ligure as the leading entity and Baba Jaga Arte e Spettacolo APS as a partner.
In the afternoon, the Cloisters will host a Swap Party by Sfuso Diffuso, where you can bring what you no longer use, exchange it, and give it a new life.
There will also be games and activities dedicated to participation and first voting, moments to meet and discuss, and spaces to test, even through play, what we know – or believe we know – about how our democracy works.
And then it's time for the party, with aperitivo, music, and a DJ set by Il Mugugno Finalese, until 10:00 p.m.
