The best son is a contemporary theater show that portrays a father and son within an apparent everyday life. But, as happens in every family, even the simplest gestures can turn into complex challenges and almost nothing concludes with a predictable outcome.
From this arises a theater of actions, words, irony, and sudden shifts, capable of deeply addressing themes such as the affection between father and son, the difficulty of being heard, the fear of loss, independence, and expectations.
The presence of Andrea, a performer with a disability who plays the son, amplifies the emotions and gives great authenticity to the relationship. Disability is not the theme of the show, but a living component of its language, which makes the listening between the two performers more intense and brings the audience into an intimate and concrete space.
Emotionally intense but also very entertaining, the show alternates depth and lightness. The irony, at times almost clown-like, lightens without simplifying and helps break the patterns with which we often view family, fragility, and diversity.
