MONUMENTS and CHURCHES

The monuments and churches of Finale Ligure

Finale Ligure is an area rich in art and culture, where history, architecture and spirituality blend together in a unique heritage waiting to be discovered. Among the most significant monuments are the majestic Mausoleum of General Caviglia, flanked by an ancient watchtower on the tip of Capo San Donato, and the charming Arch of Margherita di Spagna, built in honour of the daughter of King Philip IV, who arrived in Finale during the Spanish era.

Alongside these civil and military buildings, Finale Ligure also boasts a valuable religious heritage. In Marina di Finale stands the Basilica of San Giovanni Battista, considered one of the most prestigious 17th-century religious buildings in western Liguria. In the heart of Finalborgo, on the other hand, is the Basilica of San Biagio, one of the most fascinating examples of Ligurian Baroque, a living testimony to the cultural and artistic wealth of the area.
