A tour that in one day takes you through 4 valleys, 3 passes, 6 terrific trails and a storm of emotions. Shuttle assistance throughout the journey, in order to make the trip more efficient and get where others do not arrive.
It starts from the warm of Finale Ligure to reach almost 1,900m of altitude, and then back.
Where does this tour take its name from? Fulvio, the head behind this trip, real guru of the local trail building community; and flow… easy, eh? We’ll start from Finale Ligure with a shuttle transfer to Colle del Melogno, then a pedalling section to get to the first trail, down among beech and chestnut trees, on a trail that feels like skiing in the powder. From here, another shuttle transfer and a pedalled stretch of about 30 minutes to savour the surrounding and to get used to the change in the environment, more mountainous.
Another descent to Garessio, already in the region of Piemonte, awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, will take us to the town centre, passing through alleys, fountains and churches.
Another shuttle ride takes us to Colla di Casotto, where the ski resort of Garessio 2,000 is located. From here, we’ll ride up to the almost 1,900m and then plunge into the magical Casotto Valley, along a trail that has made many riders lose their minds, often referred to as a natural pump track. The valley, with its fairy tale village, is famous for the maturing of cheeses. In fact, after a succulent lunch based, obviously, on cheeses, we resume our way home, going up with the shuttle back to Colla di Casotto, and then descending to Garessio along a trail of about 6 km, all curves: some natural along an old mule track, others built and bermed thanks to the work of the Freeride Garessio crew.
Get back in the van to return to the col and get off again in Calizzano. Here we face the last mechanized uplift to sight the sea again and swoop down towards Finale Ligure, where an aperitivo awaits us in Finalborgo or at the Piazza in Finale Marina, watching the sun go down with a huge smile painted on our faces.
