Pietra Natural 1 – Enduro – MTB ITALY

The site of clashes between the French and Austrian armies in 1795 and a barricade built by the Italian army a century later, the Colle del Melogno (1028m a.s.l.) with the fort of the same name served a strong defence and protection function. It is now the start of spectacular tours through the wonderful Barbottina forest.

A 40-minute shuttle to the Colle del Melogno. We take the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and ride along it for about 40 minutes. It is 11 km (up and down with a 200m difference in altitude) to Giogo di Giustenice (1143m above sea level), all immersed in one of the most well-preserved beech forests in Liguria.

A short break and then take the Oltrefinale trail mainly downhill towards the Pian delle Bosse refuge: first part halfway up with technical natural passages on roots, then rocky in the central section and flowing in the final part ending in the Ranzi area (250m above sea level).

The last morning trail, the Gabri trail, will take us amidst fun passages in the chestnut forest with a view of the entire Maremola valley to the restaurant where we can taste typical Ligurian dishes.   

After lunch, urban downhill inside the old village of Ranzi, a typical Ligurian village overlooking the sea, will take us to the heart of the beautiful Pietra Ligure, where we will find a shuttle bus waiting for us for the afternoon ascent to the Nato Base.

In the afternoon, only downhill, we will choose (depending on our remaining energy, clients’ requests and trail conditions) one of the flow trails from the Nato Base.

Return to Finale roughly at 16:00/17:00
