Twentieth century: a century in which progress and horror coexist and – alongside technological and social achievements – world wars, dictatorships, persecutions, deportations, and genocides unfold. In the twentieth century, violence becomes organized, widespread, capable of involving entire populations and, in this scenario, fear establishes itself as a continuous and pervasive presence, traversing the lives of individuals and society as a whole, influencing individual behaviors and global politics.

The Memory Itinerary 2027 proposes an interactive exhibition pathway of history telling to explore the theme of Fear in history, articulated in five stages (the fear of victims, fear as a tool of power, the gray zone, fear that saves, fear that transforms from victim to perpetrator). Through installations, display panels, multimedia materials, activities, videos, and testimonies, the audience is engaged in an active experience that invites them to recognize how fear has acted in history and continues to influence the present, in a world where conflicts, crises, and tensions still make many dynamics of the last century relevant.
