Our history in dates

September 1983 in Finale Ligure, the Italian Alpine Club was born first as a subsection of Savona and two years later in December 1985 as a full-fledged section. The Cai of Finale will take care of organizing simple hikes to challenging mountaineering trips.

2006 The Gianni Calcagno mountaineering school is established

2014 The 13th Speleo Rescue Team Liguria CNSAS becomes part of the section

2016 The sectional speleological commission “Gruppo Grotte Borgio Verezzi” is established

2018 The Henriette D’Angeville sectional library is established.

Extracted from our statute..

“The CLUB ALPINO ITALIANO – Section of Finale Ligure aims to promote mountaineering in all its manifestations, the knowledge and study of mountains, especially those in the area where the social activity takes place, and the protection of their natural environment.

The Association, which is non-profit, is independent, non-partisan, non-confessional and based on principles of democracy; it aligns its regulation with the Statute and the General Regulation of the Italian Alpine Club.”

Our section makes one of its strengths the ability to identify paths with cultural significance, a force that develops to the maximum in the synergy between those who actively work on the trails and those who conduct research.
