On Saturday 12 November, in the evocative setting of the Grottone di Monte Cucco, in Orco Feglino,
art, dance and balance are at the centre of verticality workshops, music workshops, circus activities, slacklining and climbing, as well as vertical dance performances and live music concerts.

Finale Ligure, 9 November 2022 – On Saturday 12 November, the Finale area, with its cliffs, Mediterranean scrub and unmistakable natural landscape that has made it the capital of outdoor activities, will become the stage for the Piccolo Festival delle Culture Verticali (Small Festival of Vertical Cultures), now in its second edition. In the evocative setting of the Grottone di Monte Cucco, in Orco Feglino, in the immediate hinterland of Finale, art, dance and balance will be at the centre of an intense programme of verticality workshops, music workshops, circus activities, slacklining and climbing, as well as vertical dance performances and live music concerts. The activities and performances are suitable for audiences of all ages, who will be able to enjoy a unique event in a truly extraordinary natural setting.

“With this event, designed to give space to verticality in its most artistic dimension, we want to promote arts and sports disciplines expressed in different and heterogeneous languages, which however find a single great generating nucleus in the Finale area,” explains Riccardo Negro, Finale Outdoor Region ASD, organiser of the event. ‘Above all, we want to create an opportunity for people to meet and talk, in the spirit of a new alliance between the area and the community, raising awareness of the common path we are taking together. With this in mind, we can only aim for an ecological relationship with the environment around us: this is why our festival is small, non-invasive and respectful of the fragile balance of the Finale ecosystem.’

‘The Piccolo Festival delle Culture Verticali fully reflects the combination of nature, culture and outdoor sports that makes Finale Ligure and the Finale Outdoor Region a perfect destination all year round,’ comments Clara Brichetto, Councillor for Tourism of the Municipality of Finale Ligure. ‘With this event, which focuses on our territory as a place for discussion and participation, we celebrate all the artistic and sporting disciplines that have recently written an important chapter in the history of these places, making them increasingly lively and attractive.’

THE COMPLETE PROGRAMME FOR SATURDAY 12 NOVEMBER
At 3.30 pm, writer Irene Borgna, together with illustrator Agnese Blasetti, will present the book ‘Manuale per giovaniStambecchi’ (Salani Editore), revealing the secrets of hiking, from choosing and organising equipment to orientation and the small and large unexpected events to consider.
Starting at 4.30 pm, everyone will be looking up to watch the vertical dance performance by LINEAdARIA contemporary vertical dance, which transforms the cliff of Monte Cucco into its stage, subverting the rules of gravity.
The programme continues with a live concert by the Paleo Jazz Trio, featuring sounds from ancient times and cultures, performed by Danilo Raimondo, also known as Artigiano del Suono (Sound Craftsman), maestro Marco Fossati from Genoa and multi-instrumentalist Tomas Jan Milner.
During the day, you can also take part in slackline workshops with Ivan Soddu, circus arts with the Circo Incerto company and dance climbing organised by Vertical Dance Torino.
Finally, visitors will be able to admire the exhibition and live creation of works by sculptor Stefano Ariu.

The event is promoted and organised by Finale Outdoor Region and the Emsteludanza Cultural Association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Orco Feglino and the contribution of the Municipality of Finale Ligure.
