make Finale Ligure a “perfect place”.

Finale Ligure, 19 August 2022 – The canyon and the horizon. The new episode of the web series ‘The Perfect Place’, which tells the story of Finale Ligure in five episodes, is dedicated to the sea.
On the surface, the gaze is lost in the infinite horizon, but it is in the depths of the underwater canyons that you can hear the echo of the great mammals. Finale is located in the Cetacean Sanctuary, a stretch of the Ligurian Sea between the French, Tuscan and Corsican coasts, characterised by conditions particularly favourable to the presence and sighting of cetaceans, which come close to the coast here.
This is told to us by the people who, every day, whether for work or passion, are committed to protecting the rich biodiversity and traditions of this stretch of sea. People like Giulia Calogero, president of the Menkab association, who works with the most modern technological tools for scientific research and environmental education dedicated to the Mediterranean Sea. Or like Maurizio Wurtz, former professor at the University of Genoa and scientific curator of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, founding member of Artescienza and Menkab, who transforms the beauty of discovery and scientific dissemination into artistic expression. But also Renzo Briano and Paola Pastorino, who, in the name of citizen science, have created the Pelagos Group to promote widespread knowledge among citizens who collaborate daily in the sighting of cetaceans. Finally, there is fisherman Gianfelice Saccone and engineer Franceso Oddone, who convey the ever-regenerating identity of traditional fishing.
After the episodes on the outdoors, nature and culture, online on the digital channels of Visit Finale Ligure – website and social media – the web series “The Perfect Place” continues, in which Finale Ligure tells its story through the faces, voices, passions and challenges of its inhabitants. These stories, gathered during conversations with the protagonists against the backdrop of the Finale area, concretely represent the daily commitment of a community that cares for the place it inhabits, lives in and loves, to make it a “perfect place”.
