The photographic exhibition ‘Persone’ (People) opened today in Finalborgo: Corrado Murlo's portraits tell 30 stories of love for the local area.
The exhibition, set up in the Cloisters of Santa Caterina and open until 17 July, is part of the wider communication campaign ‘My Perfect Place’, which tells the story of Finale Ligure through the stories of its real protagonists, including nature, culture, sea, food and outdoor activities.
The second episode of the web series ‘The Perfect Place,’ dedicated to nature, is now online.
Finale Ligure, 14 June 2022 – The photographic exhibition ‘Persone’ (People) opened today in Finalborgo, in the setting of the Cloisters of Santa Caterina: 30 portraits by photographer Corrado Murlo tell as many stories from Finale Ligure, organised into five themes: nature, culture, sea, taste and outdoor life.
An event dedicated to the faces and stories of the people who, with their commitment and passion, make Finale Ligure lively, attractive and welcoming. Real protagonists, committed every day to promoting the cultural heritage, landscape and environment of Finale Ligure.
‘It is the community that makes the territory: the resident citizens, but also the temporary citizens, hikers and tourists that we welcome all year round,’ says Ugo Frascherelli, Mayor of Finale Ligure. ‘For our city, there are no better ambassadors than those who were born, live and work here, demonstrating their love for these places on a daily basis.’
‘The tourist experience of a region depends not only on the products offered – seaside, outdoor activities, culture, food and wine – but also, and above all, on the human factor, on the relationship between people and between people and the landscape,’ comments Claudio Casanova, Councillor for Tourism in Finale Ligure. ‘Through their stories, Finale tells its story and bears authentic and concrete witness to the quality of its hospitality and tourist offerings.’
The photographs taken by Roman photographer Corrado Murlo, who specialises in portraits and documentary and creative photography, reveal an unusual image of people and their connection with the territory.
“Individual faces that blend together and become a landscape, voices that feed into a choral narrative of the destination that does not end here, but continues and develops over time with other tools,” explains Federico Alberto, creative director of Studiowiki, who curated the exhibition, the heart of the wider communication campaign dedicated to Finale Ligure.
The visual narrative that began with the exhibition – which will be open until 17 July – is complemented by stories published each month in the online magazine ‘My Perfect Place’ and by the web series ‘The Perfect Place’, produced by Artescienza and directed by Samuele Wurtz: five video stories dedicated respectively to the outdoors, nature, culture, the sea and taste, collected during conversations with the protagonists against the backdrop of the Finale area. After the first episode, dedicated to the outdoors, the second episode is now online, dedicated to nature and the discovery of the great variety of environments enclosed within a few kilometres, which bear witness to the historical and landscape richness of an area inhabited by man for over 350,000 years.
The exhibition and web series are the two main tools of the 2022 tourism communication and promotion campaign for Finale Ligure, created by Studiowiki – a Savona-based communications agency associated with UNA – Aziende della Comunicazione Unite (United Communications Companies) – as part of the Finalese Strategic Tourism Plan designed by the Destination Management Company (DMC) DE.DE – Destination Design.
